On Fu Zhen - Lun 's Study Of The History Of History

Fu Zhenlun is the historian who lived through the period of the Republic of China and the PRC. He is the eyewitness of the historiography in 20th century. His range of study is very broad, from the history of historiography and chorography to the museology. He accomplished a lot and functioned as the path-breaker in many fields.However, Fu’outstanding work at chorography made his other achievement inferior and incapable of being the focus. This paper researches on the Fu’s achievement of history of historiography, with the method of examining, concluding, comparing, analyzing, compositing and etc. This paper traces Fu’s research background and achievement and clarifies his approaches and methods. This paper reveals Fu’s contribution to the development of Chinese history of historiography, and objectively appraises his status and influence in the history field.Commenting on the principle, this paper first describes the era of Fu Zhenlun’s life and the life of the main experience, to better get a glimpse of the academic achievement and life experience relations.Secondly, In the field of history of historiography, Fu carried on research on Chinese ancient historiography theory masterpiece-Shitong, and verified the life story of its author-Liu Zhiji. To begin with, this paper analyzes the general research situation of Shitong in the modern time so as to pry into Fu’s research contribution for this. Then this paper explores Fu’s research on the life story of Liu Zhiji. In the last part of this chapter, this paper emphasizes on the review of Fu’s writing reasons, the thoughts origin, pattern, system, historical opinions, the historical ideas of Shitong, and its later situation and so on.Third, this paper mainly explores Fu’s research on the classic like Qingshigao, Tangshu, Shiji, and his rearch on the historian like Zhang Xuecheng, Zheng Qiao and Wang Shao. Afterwards, this paper analyses Fu’s characters of research on the historical records and historiographer.Fourth, on the basis of Fu’s book named The Essential of Chinese History, this paper probes into Fu’s research on the Chinese historical questions, such as Solutions of the history of friendship,Historiographer build,Historical origins,Historical factions,History of body gains and losses,Books finishing.Lastly, combining with Fu’s personal academic conduct and academic research, this paper makes the analysis on characters of Fu’s history research, concludes Fu’s achievement of history of historiography, and objectively estimates Fu’s contributes to Chinese history of historiography.
