First analys is is about the casus of Mi Fu’s “Shang Yi” artistic view, which will start from two aspects of the objective and subjective sides. Because the view of“Shang Yi”is similar to the“sudden enlightenm ent”of Zen ideology, w hich both emphasize the subject of myriad of spirituality and conceptual world, So sudden enlightenment is associated with the imaginat ion. On the one hand, in the process of its development, it attaches importance to both of the functional and aesthetic characteristics, added more imagination elements, which give people a new aesthetic enjoyment. On the other hand, modern calligraphy art has the traditional inher itance. Traditional Chinese calligraphy art praises “Gu Yi”highly, which means the concentrated reflection of the nature beauty and human life. It comes from the ancient people’s rich artistic creation ability. It has the role of the imaginat ion.China’s art and philosophy always blend together, such as Jin promotes “lingering charm”and Song promotes “Shang Yi”and so on. The philosophical idea of Confucianism, Daoism, and Buddha mutually penetrate into the calligraphy’s thought. Then they bring the changing of the way of thinking and the changing of the calligraphy styles. Imagination plays an important role among these. Now, the calligraphy learning is dependent on the learning of traditional essential copybook. At the same time, it’s asked to reflect the modern aesthetic orientation of the calligraphy style.
