The small theater opera has gradually gained recognition and expectation from opera professionals and audiences at different levels, becoming a new style of drama performances. When perceived from the stage performance of the small theater opera in recent years, the relationship between the small opera and drama is more like a regression on the basis of experiment and innovation instead of speaking as the experimentation and innovation.This essay is divided into four parts and studies the development of the small theatre opera. The first part is to analyze the circumstances in which the opera can be affected by the small theatre. The results are achieved through the analysis according to practical situations on the basis of the review of small theatre opera movements. The second part gives a brief introduction of the development of drama and analyzes the historical origin of the small theatre opera. The analysis is aimed to find out the inevitability and necessity of the existence of the small theatre opera. The third part introduces the current situation of the small theatre opera. This part studies the artistic features of the small theatre opera combining with the cases of the small theatre opera. The fourth part is to explore the significance of the development of the small theatre opera combining with the traditional features of drama.Today,The impact of the small theatre opera on the development of drama can not be ignored.The research of developments of the small theatre opera allows us to better grasp the relationship between the small theatre opera and traditional opera which can contributes to the exploration of more performance mode of the small theatre opera.The research can also trigger a deep-level thinking of the small theatre opera which can vigorously contribute to the development of the small theatre opera and thus do contributions to the whole drama industry.
