| Callous unemotional traits are emotional tendencies featuring apathy to,the lack of compassion and the lack of guilt feelings for others.Affected families in all aspects of society, today’s callous unemotional traits of Students in groups more prominent,the cause of many of the traits of Students’ callous unemotional traits. But family environment and empathy are two important factors that affect middle school students callous unemotional traits produce, the study of the three and their relations can help schools and families better prevention callous unemotional trait problem generating high school students, educators create meet the requirements of high school students physical and mental development environment provides a reference.This study used a random sample survey research with callous unemotional traits scale,empathy scale and family environment scale for 822 middle school students,from The High School Affiliated to Yunnan Normal University, Kunming No.16 High School and Ximeng No.1 High School in Yunnan, ranging from grade 1 of junior high school to grade 3 of senior high school.Research from specific scale data analysis present characteristics of students’ callous unemotional traits, empathy and family environment and influencing factors.Further explore the callous nature of the relationship between empathy and family environment among.The following conclusions can be reached in this research:1.The Feature of Middle School Students’ Callous Unemotional Traits:The total score of callous unemotional traits and the average scores of dimensions of indifference as well as of emotional numbness are nearly equal to theoretical median score. The total score of callous unemotional traits, indifference and emotional numbness dimensions vary greatly in gender,nationality and area. The total score of callous unemotional traits and all of its dimensions vary slightly in grade, being the only one child or not,family structure, father’s educational level,mother’s educational level and family monthly income.The total score of callous unemotional traits and the dimensions of emotional numbness vary greatly in being a boarder or not.2.The Feature of Middle School Students’ Empathy:The total score of empathy and the average scores of dimensions of perspective-taking,imagination,empathy care are higher than theoretical median score.The average score of individual pain dimension is nearly equal to theoretical median score.The total score of empathy and all of its dimensions vary greatly in gender and father’s educational level.The total score of empathy and the dimensions of perspective-taking,individual pain as well as imagination vary greatly in grade.The total score of empathy and empathy care dimension vary greatly in nationality.The dimensions of individual pain,imagination and empathy care vary greatly in being the only one child or not,mother’s educational level and family monthly income.The total score of empathy and all of its dimensions vary slightly in family structure.The total score of empathy and the dimensions of individual pain and empathy care vary greatly in area and being a boarder or not.3.The Feature of Middle School Students’ Family Environment:Independence dimension varies greatly in gender.The dimensions of intimacy,family conflicts,amusement,religious and ethical values as well as control vary greatly in grade.The total score of family environment and the dimensions of intimacy,independence,successfulness, knowledge degree,amusement,religious and ethical values,organized degree and control vary greatly in nationality. The dimensions of intimacy,independence,knowledge degree,amusement,religious and ethical values as well as control vary greatly in being the only one child or not. The dimensions of successfulness and religious and ethical values vary greatly in family structure. The dimensions of intimacy,independence,successfulness,knowledge degree,amusement,religious and ethical values, organized degree and control vary in area.The total score of family environment and the dimensions of intimacy,independence, knowledge degree,amusement, religious and ethical values as well as control vary greatly in father’s educational level.The total score of family environment and the dimensions of independence, successfulness,knowledge degree,amusement, religious and ethical values,organized degree as well as control vary greatly in mother’s educational level.The total score of family environment and the dimensions of intimacy,independence,knowledge degree,amusement,religious and ethical values as well as control vary greatly in family monthly income.Thedimensions of independence,knowledge degree,amusement,religious and ethical values, organized degree as well as control vary greatly in being a boarder or not.4.The correlation among callous unemotional traits,empathy and family environment suggests that callous unemotional traits are correlated with the dimensions of family conflicts and independence,and are significantly negative correlated to other dimensions except for control.It also suggests that empathy is significantly negative correlated to the dimensions of indifference and emotional numbness and that family environment is significantly correlated to the three dimensions except for individual pain.Family environment dimensions(intimacy,ethical and religious values as well as amusement) play a significant role in predicating these students’ callous unemotional traits Empathy dimensions(empathy care, perspective-taking, individual pain and imagination) play a significant role in predicating these students’ callous unemotional traits.Family environment dimensions(ethical and religious values, successfulness, family conflicts and intimacy) play a significant role in predicting these students’ empathy.Empathy plays part mediating role int and relation between cal floor sun emotional traits and family environment Samong these middle school students. |
