| Internet Addiction(IA) is getting more and more attentions these years. Studies about IAD had confirmed that Internet Addiction was related to many social and psychology factors. The majority studies on Internet addiction have focused on internet gaming disorder, while few studies have investigated the other sub types of Internet addiction. Here we combined structural(gray matter volume, GMV) and functional( Regional Homogeneity and resting state functional connectivity)information to explore the neural machanisms underlying different sub types of IA in a sample of 110 subjects with <The Internet Addiction Tendency Scale(IATS)> which was developed by Xia Chen and Xiting Huang. Study 1 investigated the structural features of IA with Voxle based morphometry method. The results shows that lingual, precuneus, anterior cingulate, inferior frontal gyrus was related to Internet relationship addiction; the gray matter volume of lingual, precuneus, hippocampus, parahippocampus, anterior cingulate, supramarginal, angular and temporal gyrus was correlated to Internet entertainment addiction; the gray matter volume of middle frontal, inferior frontal, superior parietal and supramarginal gyrus was correlated to Internet information collection addiction. Study 2 investigated the functional features of IA with the method of regional homogeneity(Re Ho). The results indicated that the Re Ho of medial superior frontal, supplement motor area, paracentral lobule, putamen and postcentral was related to Internet relationship addiction; the Re Ho of lingula and middle cingulate was correlated to Internet antertainment addiction; the Re Ho of lingual, precuneus, precentral, cerebullum and superior temporal was related to Internet information collection addiction. Study 3 further investigated the functional characters of IA with resting state functional connectivity. The results suggested that the functional connectivities between pars triangularis and putamen, postcentral and superior frontal were positvely correlated to Internet relationship addiction; the connectivity between anterior cingulate and insula was positively correlated to Internet entertainment addiction; the connectivities between superior parietal, pars triangularis and orbital inferior frontal were nevegatively related to Internet information collection addction. Study 4 investigated the ralationship between self confidence and IA with VBM, we found that self confidence mediated the associations between left postcentral volume and Internet entertainment addiction, self confidence also partly mediated the association between right superior parietal and Internet information collection addiction. Taken together, our results suggest that it is important to distinguish different sub types of IA and self confidence might play an important role in the formation of Internet entertainment addiction and Internet information collection addiction. |
