How Does China Participate In The Construction Of International Organizations Under The "new Normal"

In this article, we will analyze how to make development environment in the‘new normal’ play a more active role in the organization building by using the G20asan example and referring to the lessons learned from institutional construction of thedifferent international and regional organizations that China participated in.The article is divided into three parts. The first chapter gives a brief introductionabout the economic environment in the ‘new normal’, to be more specific, includingboth the domestic and the international economic environment. On the one hand,China is facing the pressure of economic downturn caused by the economictransformation; on the other hand, the international economic environment formed inthe post-financial crisis era brought some impacts to our economy. What is more, itstates the challenges and opportunities China faces in the institutional construction ofinternational organizations by reviewing the history of China’s cooperation andexchanges with different-level organizations and integration into the world systemsince the reform and opening-up. From the two aspects of international and regionalorganizations, this part analyzes factors such as the economic developmentenvironment and the political and security pattern and makes a conclusion of theseprecious experience from the history. The second chapter makes a concrete analyze ofour government’s different policies, in accordance with our national conditions indifferent international organizations. It also makes a comparison of the internationalorganizations on different scales, such as SCO, APEC and BRICS countries. The thirdchapter makes a conclusion of all the analysis above. The G20summit is set as anexample to explore China’s participation in the institutional construction of the G20and demonstrate the more essential and targeted role China played in the internationalorganization construction.
