With the development of network technology, there are more and more information required storing and spreading. The tradition library can not continue satisfying the need of readers. The modernizing and automating of library have already becoming a developing trend. It is a direction to build a high-effect digital library nowadays. But during the developing process from tradition library to digital library, it is an enormous challenge to how to fully utilize large amount of original resources of books. The resources of books are stored as the form of machine-reading, and the form called MARC can not apply to the network directly. The appearing of XML makes it possible to convert and search MARC. At the same time, the data mining of the storing books has also embodying reader's need timely to library workers.In the light of own work, the author raises experience to study XML technology and data mining technology deeply, to discuss the application in solving the problem of tradition library, and to design a library model on the basis of XML technology and data mining technology. The model include the following:I. The conversion from MARC form to XML document.II. The XML data leading-in to the database.III. Reader's inquiry and search to the information of storing books.TV. The mining of reader's visiting data.The model designed is not only fully making use of tradition library resource, but also making library workers gain easily reader's need. It satisfies the need of network construction of library resource.
