Research On Standardization And Application Of Information Resources

With the development of the information technology, all of the university libraries introduce digital resources and develop characteristic resources systems and databases by the advantage of the subjects in these years. The constructions of the information resources of the libraries have begun to shape. But in the process of resources digitization, the repeats of the development and the constructions are very serious. One important factor is the standardization of digital resources. From the constructions of information resources, it mainly reflected in that the metadata standards, cataloguing standards are difficult to adapt the need of the development.From the perspective of library, this paper comprehensively analyzed the advantage and the lack of metadata standards, the standards of information resources description and book catalogue standards, gave relevant solutions to address the above situation. And then, it focused on application of the relevant standards. The main content of this paper includes the following aspects.In Part 1, it introduced the research background, significance, research status, problems, the content and the organizational structure.In Part 2, it researched the classifications of the metadata standards, cataloguing standards and the standards of information resources description, revealed the relationship of these standards and created the relations plan of the relevant standards of the constructions of information resources.In Part 3, it researched the characteristics, problems and solution strategies of the metadata, metadata standards and the standards of information resources description. It focused on the description of CNMARC with XML and completed the batch conversion from CNMARC to XML.In Part 4, it researched the characteristics of the record, indexing and retrieval standards, revealed the problems and gave solution strategies. It focused on the principles of the CALIS members of libraries and the HuiWen system of books management. Combined with the practice of the Hubei University of Technology, it completed a cataloging system model based on the HuiWen system.In Part 5, it created the retrieval system based on CNMARCXML, realized the retrieval and the use of CNMARCXML data and improved the traditional MARC retrieval workflow.In Part 6, it summarized the full text and prospected the future work. The main research of this paper includes the following aspects.(1) It researched the relationship of the relevant standards of the constructions of information resources and created the relations plan of the relevant standards.(2) It researched the description of CNMARC with XML and completed the batch conversion from CNMARC to XML.(3) It researched the principles of the CALIS members of libraries and the HuiWen system of books management and completed a cataloging system model based on the HuiWen system.(4) It created the retrieval system based on CNMARCXML, realized the retrieval and the use of CNMARCXML data and improved the traditional MARC retrieval workflow.
