As the mobile computing prevails future and future, data distributed storage are prerequisite. A great deal of information is stored in the mobile equipments, which exchanges simultaneously and frequently, so usually information has more than one copies. To share and exchange the correct information, these copies must be kept consistent and updated in time. Therefore, data synchronization becomes important model for mobile computing. However, datum distributed storage called for a kind of data synchronization mechanism among the different datum sources.SyncML is put forward by some top-ranked companies, such as Ericsson, IBM, Lotus, Matsushita Communication Industrial Co., Ltd., Motorola, Nokia. On the basis of the deep study of SyncML protocol, this paper analyzes its drawback on its security and its restriction on the type and object number of data's transmission. This paper brought out SE-SyncML(Secure and Extended SyncML) data synchronization model, to future extend SyncML protocol on security and expansibility. SE-SyncML data synchronization model first introduced a secure data synchronization process, which was achieved by encryption and digital Signature techniques. Then vSMS and vMMS datum formats were put forward in the short message and multimedia message synchronization. Also a triangle synchronization model was given to improve the existed SyncML which only work in the two parties synchronization model. Finally, SE-SyncML was applied in the PIM data synchronization system. As people call for the more secure, variable, and more convenient datum transmission, SE-SyncML data synchronization model is a good choice for us in the data synchronization operation.
