With the development of IC technology, the size and complexity of circuit design continues to increase. Meanwhile the number of components is growing, and need to add the model of new components into the original components library. The precision and complexity of component model that used for the circuit simulation influence the accuracy and speed of simulation directly. To meet the different needs of the simulation and to add new component model, it is very significant to study components modeling in theory and practical application.Based on the understanding of relevant principles of theoretical modeling, the paper made in-depth study on the components modeling methods for circuit simulation. In order to meet the different requirements of the simulation, this paper divides the components modeling method into three levels integrating the relevant technologies of current components modeling: transistor level, structural level and behavioral level. In general, the model of transistor level has the highest precision and the longest simulation time; behavioral model has the lowest accuracy and the shortest simulation time; the parameters of structural model are in the middle.Subsequently, this paper presents the design idea of components library. On the basis of analyzing relevant documents'format, this paper has finished the function of creating new components, which includes two parts: the creation of component's graphic symbols document and the creation of component's model parameters document. When the components in the components library can not meet users'demand for simulation, the users can complete the creation of new component through this interface.Finally, this paper designs a prototype system based on the application of multi-level modeling. Combining circuit simulation platform, and the creation of new components, this prototype system is realized. Then an integrator circuit is simulated and analyzed in the system. Simulation results show the validity of multi-level modeling and the feasibility of applying multi-level models of component in the simulation platform.
