The 21st century is the era of knowledge-based economy; knowledge has become an important resource. The extensive application of network technology and the rise of knowledge management has brought new challenges to the university libraries and opportunities as well. University libraries should seize the opportunity to change the traditional service concept, service content,services models and so on, while strengthening the research and application of knowledge management. In the ensurement of knowledge management, university libraries should take measures to achieve the change from information services to the knowledge services. University libraries should construct platform based knowledge management and knowledge services to provide users with comprehensive, professional and personalized knowledge services. In the paper, the knowledge service models of library and the platform based on knowledge management and knowledge services were studied with theory and research methods. The main work is as follows:1. This part reviews the historical evolution of knowledge services and expounds the concepts of knowledge services, the difference and the relationship between knowledge services and information services, and the characteristics of knowledge services.2. Combing the changes of internal and external environment of university library, from the point of view of life cycle of knowledge, the knowledge services models of university library were classified into primary models, higher knowledge service models and advanced knowledge service models in the paper. With these models, the content of knowledge services of university library was expatiated.3. With explicating the concept and characteristics of knowledge management, the knowledge management of university library was studied from the point of view of the necessity, content and knowledge-sharing, and the strategies for promoting knowledge management of university library were also proposed in the paper.4. On the basis of the analysis of the knowledge services models and the relationsh- -ips between knowledge services and knowledge management of library, a platform based on knowledge services and knowledge management was proposed in the paper, and some functions of the platform and its key technologies were introduced.In the last chapter, the research results were summarized, and the limitations of the paper and the contents for further research were also pointed out.
