Recently, the importance of the security of hard-disk has been highlighted for special attention. As a result, kinds of security technology have been designed to protect the data of hard-disk. The most effective method is encrypt the data in the hard-disk.The ID authentication and encrypt system of hard-disk with IDE interface based on MEMS strong-link, is programmed in an FPGA chip. It connects computer and hard-disk by IDE interface, and realize the ID authentication and data encryption. The design includes the ID authentication system and hard-disk encrypt ystem.The ID authentication system includes MEMS strong-link and controlling program. With two feedback signal, MEMS strong-link is used for the security device of the authentication system. The states of the decoding MEMS strong-link is got by checking the feedback signals. The controller is programmed by hardware discription language, it can be intergrated in the same FPGA chip with hard-disk encrypt system. Hard-disk encrypt system is realized by FPGA, programmed by hardware discription language as well. The encrypt system includes IDE controller and encrypt IP core. IDE controller meet the ATA specification. 128 bits AES algorithm is used in the encrypt system. The encrypt key can be formated by the feedback from the MEMS strong-link.It is the innovation to realize hard-disk ID authentication with IDE interface, control MEMS strong-link by checking feedback signals, program MEMS strong-link controller, use the feedback signals as the key of the encrypt system.
