In this thesis, Automatic Welding System of aluminum guide rod is designed for the present situation of aluminum guide rod manual welding and semiautomatic welding in the Baotou Aluminum Plant. The topic is valuable for application.According to technological requirements of aluminum guide rod welding and properties of materials to be welded, the system of PMIG(Pulsed Metal Inert Gas) welding, which adopts inverter technology using IGBT, is designed based on DSP(Digital Signal Processor) and MCU(Micro Controller Unit) mainly used on aluminum guide rod welding. DSP is the core of control system, it is used for welding real time parameters acquisition, fuzzy control operation, PI calculation and PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) waveform produce. MCU is Auxiliary for the system, it is used for human-computer interaction system(keyboard and display).Besides, MCU is communicated with DSP by serial communication.The MATLAB model of arc welding inverter power is designed and working process of inverter is simulated. Analysis and Forecast of digital control precision and effect are done. Welding power load step change and current of given sudden change are simulated in the paper.As control system of welding arc length is complex nonlinear system, the system is designed based on fuzzy control theory. Arc voltage is control variable, wire feed speed is controlled variable. Arc length fuzzy controller is designed in the MATLAB and completed hardware and software design. The system has better control effect.Through simulation and experiment, we test hardware and software of the system and control strategy. The experiment show rapidity and accuracy of the system are better. The system can meet control requirements and welding technology and ensure arc length and welding process stability.Last, through summarizing the paper, we give improvement opinion for welding system, which lay a better foundation for researches on digital welding control system in future.
