At present there are a number of production process automation systems in power plant, including DCS, ECS, PLC, remote IO, intelligent instruments and so on. The functions and structures of every system are different, so it is difficult to share production information, forming an information isolated island phenomenon. It is difficult to effectively make full use of advantages of the information age, and to substantially increase the level of enterprise modernization.With advancing of the power plant Management-Control Integration System and digitized power plant, It is urgent to get rid of DCS information isolated island. Generally, the power plant requires that production data of various automation systems access to DCS in Power Plant Control System, then centralized monitoring and management, and through DCS put the main production information into Supervisory Information System in Plant Level.In view of this situation, we have proposed one idea that DCS down to connect the various bottom automation systems, put production process control data to focus on DCS, up to connect Supervisory Information System, to DCS as a whole plant production data center of of the power plant Management-Control Integration System.In this paper we researches the development status about current distributed control systems and modern process industry automation, plans a new DCS system architecture. Drawing on the related idea of electric power automation, proposed the concept of embedded communication management machine in DCS, is used to solve the different communication needs, make the most of underlying communications to connect to the upper plant-level monitoring and management system,establish a true information integration in modern process industry production management, comprehensive analyzes the communication function requirements of the communication management machine and designs system architecture of the communication management machine.We analyzes the current mainstream microprocessor platforms and embedded operating systems, builds hardware platform based X86 processor, gives implementations about serial port, Ethernet, Profibus interfaces, designs CAN Bus communication card, analyzes real-time kernel features of QNX, transplants a application of QNX operating system.In this paper we developed the communications interface software of the communication management machine, the interface software include MODBUS RTU and MODBUS TCP used in the field of process control, CDT and IEC104 used in electrical automation, and flexible custom UDP protocol communication interfaces, to meet the vast majority of communication applications.We combine field application of the communication management machine, gives the application of a variety of communication interface, the protocol configuration information and on-site commissioning process.The communication management machine of this paper developed has been successfully put into application, The practice has proved that the system is running in a stable condition and the communication is reliable.
