Oil and gas resource evaluation has important guiding significance for oil and gas resourceexploration and development. The oil and gas resource evaluation software system, which is theimportant tool and technical supports to realize oil and gas resource quantitative and dynamicevaluation, is an indispensable tool for oil and gas resource evaluation. Combining with thegeologic features of oil and gas resource in coal measure strata of the east China sea basin andthe appropriate evaluation method, establishing oil and gas resource evaluation informationsystem in coal measure strata has important theoretical significance and practical value.In the process of oil and gas resource exploration, a lot of graphic and attribute data will beproduced, of which the effective management and analysis is the foundation of the oil and gasresource evaluation. GIS has a powerful data management and spatial analysis function, so thisarticle tries to establish the oil and gas resource evaluation information system in coal measurestrata with GIS technology and oil and gas resource evaluation method.Through the system requirements analysis and design, the overall structure of the systemwas established. On the basis of the process for building a database, the oil and gas resourceevaluation database in coal measure strata, which provides a database for data storage and use,was designed. Combining with the MapGIS platform and SQL Server database, using C++language, this paper accomplished the realization of the oil and gas resource evaluationinformation system in coal measure strata. The system mainly has six functional modules, whichare data management, graphics processing, spatial analysis, statistical evaluation, result output,system management. Finally, using the functional modules of the system, this paperaccomplished the oil and gas resource evaluation of the Xihu Depression in the east China seashelf basin, which practiced the monte carlo method application in oil and gas resource evaluation.Oil and gas resource under the different probability condition was calculated. The result verifiedthe effectiveness of the system.
