Stable operation of the power grid is a key factor for economic andsocial development in modern society. The submarine cable transmissionproject is an important part of the construction of the cross-seanetworking project, and plays an important role in the internationalprocess of grid and the interconnection process of regional grid. With thenumber of submarine cable increasing, the failure of the submarine cablein the offshore area caused by anchor hook is getting worse. According tohistorical data statistics, human activity causes more than90%of thesubmarine cable fault, and one third is anchor damage, IEEE submarinecables specification deems anchor damage is the first man-made disasters. The repair period of submarine cables damage is very long, andmaintenance costs are extremely expensive, it cost millions and even tenmillions, and the submarine cable fault cause the regional electricity orcommunication interruption that made great difficulties for the productionand life of residents, so the risk analysis of anchor damage for submarinecable is necessary. In this paper, from safety and stable operation point of view, reference subsea pipeline risk assessment specification, we systemidentified the main risk factors of submarine cable anchor damage firstly, such as dragging anchors, drop anchor. Then for Submarine cable anchordamage risk factors, the text used in probabilistic risk assessment methodto study probabilistic risk analysis methods for the undersea cable anchordamage by ship anchors. Using energy calculations, pre-hazard approach, fuzzy risk assessment methods to study consequence analysis methods forsubmarine cable ship anchor damage. On this basis, the paper selecteddragging anchors depth, comprehensive risk social values etc. as KPIconsequences assessment for submarine cable anchor damage caused byship. And system proposed submarine cable anchor disaster risk analysismethod. This paper based on the study on submarine cable ship anchored disaster risk analysis method; carry out case studies of submarine cablerisk assessment. The results show that the anchor of a ship submarinecable harm risk is low risk; the paper presents the full implementation ofrisk control measures, these measures can control the anchor damage riskfor the submarine cable. To sum up, the risk assessment method forsubmarine cables proposed by this paper can use in similar submarinecable engineering. It can also apply in undersea cable managers’submarine cable routing targeted different regions of the conservation andmanagement of reference.
