An Improved Wave-front Method Ray Tracing For Reflected Wave

The reflection wave ray tracing accounts for an important role in the ray tracingmethod, it’s more promising than transmitted wave ray tracing. Because of not restrictedby observation system, and strong adaptability, advancing front ray tracing is a kind ofcommonly used algorithm. The paper improve and develop the ordinal wave-frontreconstruction, put forward a kind of ray tracing applicable to the reflection wave. Thismethod allow for the existence of head wave and scattering wave, more applicable tocomplex velocity structure model. The main contents of this paper are as follows:Firstly, expounded the source of the subject, illustrates the research significance ofadvancing front ray tracing of reflected wave, summarize the history of ray tracing athome and abroad, all kinds of algorithm of ray tracing and the historical and present ofreflection wave ray tracing.Secondly, this paper expounds the basic theory of ray tracing. Introduces theadvancing front of ray tracing, overview the principle of advancing front in the past, thebasic theories of algorithm and process of calculating that used are summarized andanalyzed, become the theoretical preparation extend to reflection wave.Finally, a new method of ray tracing is put forward based on Huygens principle andordinal wave-front reconstruction that suitable for reflection wave. Introduce the concretemethod and steps of this arithmetic. Using the parabola interpolation in the process ofcalculation, improve the calculation accuracy. Combine with velocity model find thetravel time that calculate by new method close to the actual travel time on the samehomogeneous medium model. When apply this method to two layer medium model,tracking path and calculation results are verify the rationality of the new method further.
