In the past two decades, with the absolute age of Quaternary glacial increase, the start-uptime and characteristics of evolution for glacier is more explicitly, it provide important basisfor the formation mechanism of the Quaternary glacial in eastern margin of the Qinghai-TibetPlateau,At the same time, the coupling relationship between the uplift of the glacier evolutionin Quaternary has been identified.Maxian Mountain located in the south part of the Lanzhouis the highest mountain in the loess hilly area. The height of Maxian Mountain is3670.4m,about40km away from Lanzhou. It is predominantly composed of metamorphic rock, andthe planation surfaces has been formed before the pre-Neogene,the bare rocky and arescattered across the mountain. However, the research of the Quaternary glaciations in MaxianMountain which reflects the climate change such as the glacier accumulation is very poor. Sothe study of the Maxian Mountain Quaternary glacial relics and the restoration of the ancientglacial history is very important, not only can be used as a comparison of around themountain glacial series to provide a scientific basis to confirm the around the mountain iceseries, but also has important significance on glacier development mechanisms which climateand tectonic coupling relationship.Using the lab optically stimulated luminescence (OSL) dating of glacial periods andanalysising the grain-size date of glacier, that is the late last glaciation(13.0±0.6ka、12.1±0.6ka'10.3±0.5ka),the Mid-Holocene(6.4±0.3ka),The glacial extent of the late lastglaciation is larger than the that of the Mid-Holocene.In Xiaohupo and Doulingou have thesame glacier advance during the late last glaciation.
