Spatial panel data exists due to the different time and region, it can reflect the change of both time and space directions. It is applied more widely than cross section data only considering the regional diversity or the time sequence data only considering the time difference. Spatial panel data with spatial correlation are not independent, which makes the classical statistical regression is no longer applicable, and the spatial panel data model is one of the important model to solve the problem about spatial correlation. Spatial panel data model with spatial weight matrix can reflect the spatial correlation exactly, which can solve the comprehensive problem of time series and cross section data. Therefore, it is valuable in practice to research the spatial panel data model. In this paper, we study the spatial correlation test, parameter estimation and the application in the regional economic of spatial panel data model.Firstly, we study the spatial correlation test of spatial panel data model. We do three hypothesis tests with Lagrange multiplier test (LM test) and Likelihood ratio test (LR test) to determine whether the data is spatial correlated. We can judge whether the spatial correlation exists through the joint hypothesis test, and distinguish the spatial correlation is belong to the spatial lag or error by the last two edge hypothesis tests.Next, we research the parameter estimation of the spatial error panel data model which is applied more widely than spatial lag panel data model. We prove that the quasi maximum likelihood estimation of the parameters is consistent and asymptotically normal. Finally, the spatial panel data model is applied to the analysis of the influence factors of regional economic growth. The results show that the growth rate of regional economic not only depends on the regional condition, but also is closely related with the economic growth of adjacent areas. The impact of initial per capita GDP, the natural population growth rate, government consuming and the accumulation of capital on regional economic growth is significant.
