Earth is a natural environment for human to survive, a variety of disasters on Earth are closely related to Human survival and development. Since the ancient times, earthquakes are one of the natural disasters which give a severe impact on humans, to the exploration and study on earthquake, human has never been interrupted, and hope to though mastering the causes, mechanism the conditions of earthquakes, achieve to the purposes like predict earthquakes, reduce casualties and economic losses.Currently, GPS is an effective method for space observation, the continuous observation data of earth’s surface deformation which is obtained by GPS could attain the earth’s surface strain rate accurately, reach the goal of earthquake monitoring and long-term prediction. At the same time, The study of seismic precursory characteristics also extend from rock to the ionosphere, the total electron content obtained though GPS, is a very important physical parameters to short-term earthquake prediction, by studying its abnormal changes, it becomes an important part of the impending forecast, thus achieve the aim of the earthquake monitoring and prediction.The paper discusses the application of seismic precursory characteristics observation that based on the GPS data. Mainly analyzes the stress and strain of the lithosphere and the total electron concentration anomaly inspection of ionosphere in detail.(1) This paper introduces data processing software platform that based on GAMIT/GLOBKGPS, use GPS continuous observation data which is provided by IGS (International GPS Service) to obtain the time sequence diagram of near stations, compared and analyzed the deformations of the Sichuan-Yunnan region in2008and2009cases, and get the velocity distribution in Sichuan-Yunnan region, analyze Tectonic patterns and stress-strain state of the Sichuan-Yunnan region,and draw a conclusion that tectonic movement is clockwise movement of the eastern Himalayan at last. (2) Get the TEC time sequence diagram of the stations that around the earthquake epicenter based on MATLAB.comparing and analyzing of the sliding window method of traditional method and the time series method of new method in earthquake cases analysis, shows the time series method improves accuracy of the reference background value, and improves the efficiency and accuracy of the abnormal information, and proof that:the time series method is superior than the sliding window method. Meanwhile, through the earthquakes analysis, we can include that the ionosphere anomalies generally appear within a few days before the earthquake, and rarely or only a very short time in the day of an earthquake.(Figure37, Table9, reference61.)...
