The Characteristics Of Volcanic Rocks And Their Tectonic Environment In Shengligou-Hongdenggou Mining Area,Qinghai Province

Shengligou-Hongdenggou Mining Area in Qinghai province is located in the western part of the northern margin of the Qaidam Basin, with complex tectonic characteristics and superior regional metallogenic conditions. Based on detailed field geological survey, we focus on volcanic rocks as the research object.Through the interpretation of regional geology, ore deposit geology, and analysis of petrological and geochemical data of the volcano, the paper discusses the evolution of volcanic rock, the magma source and tectonic environment, and put forward the prospecting direction.The metamorphic degree of volcano in Shengligou-Hongdenggou Mining Area is low, only reaching shallow metamorphism of greenschist facies. The rock type of volcanoes are mainly andesite with geochemical characteristics of alkali-calc-alkali series of low sample differentiation index, which are the products of rising basaltic magma or metasomatic mantle material directly.At least two volcanic eruption cycles in this area have been recognized.The tectonic background of volcano is island arc setting of subduction zone, and the depth of its magma source area is relatively shallow. Sodium volcanic rocks are the most important ore bearing strata of this area, then shear and magmatic activity provide power and heat source for mineral enriched again, and also they provides part of ore-forming materials. Thus the ductile shear zone becomes a significant prospecting direction.
