At present, search for thin lithology reservoir, particularly for channel sand reservoir, is anew spotlight in oil&gas exploration and production. The channel sand reservoir is featuredin small size, narrow range and fast variance horizontally. How to determine the spatialdistribution of the law of its nature thin interbedded reservoir has become an urgent problem.In order to solve the problem of thin reservoir prediction, geophysicists invention andimprovement of a number of new methods and techniques, spectral decomposition is one ofthem. Seismic spectral decomposition technique of the seismic data is transformed from thetime domain to the frequency domain, which provides a new way of a frequency domainanalysis, and interpretation of the seismic data. Seismic data generated after spectraldecomposition, the amplitude spectrum and phase spectrum. Can identify the time of theformation thickness variation in the amplitude spectrum and phase spectrum can detect thediscontinuity in the transverse direction of the geological body. Spectral decompositiontechnique than conventional seismic techniques to obtain the finer geological body imaging,which is now to solve stratigraphy, lithology, and other complex reservoirs need.At first, this paper start from the spectrum feature analysis of thin layer, and determinethe spectrum characteristics of the thin layer, the factors affecting the spectrum characteristicsof thin layer was analyzed, then the principle of spectrum decomposition and in detail in thispaper, the basic algorithm, through the different signals of the forward model, comparativeanalysis the advantages and disadvantages of several typical spectrum decompositionalgorithm. Fourth chapter in detail elaborated the reservoir prediction is one of the mostcommonly used attribute analysis technology, and use the seismic attribute technology, southto Portugal oilfield AoNa3d work area of fuyu oil reservoir distribution characteristics of thechannel sand is analyzed. Finally, down decomposition, the basis of comprehensive utilizationof slicing techniques, methods of coherence technique, methods on south slope of huimin sagin the belt of thin reservoir forecast.
