Turbulence simulation wind tunnel is an important equipment foraerodynamics study. The signal process and control system is crucial to theperformance of the atmospheric boundary layer simulation. Nowadays, windtunnels with passive control system have limitations so that it is necessary topay attention to the research of active control wind tunnel. How to control theoutput of turbulent wind speed and how to process the signals effectivelyremain the crucial issues of the wind tunnel research.This paper is aimed at the solution of control system design and signalprocessing of the wind tunnel for turbulent wind simulation. Based on theanalysis of theory, the physical model of control system is built, then the activecontrol system of wind tunnel is designed, which is used to study thecharacteristics of wind tunnel control system and wind signals. The main workthis paper does is as follows:Firstly, under the design requirements, general design of the wind tunnelsystem is accomplished, with the physical model of wind simulation controlsystem analyzed.Secondly, the signal processing of turbulent wind simulation is studied, and wind speed generation program is developed based on LabVIEW, with whichit is convenient to process the signals.Then, the electrical system of turbulent wind tunnel is designed, includinghardware, circuit and so on. Ensure that the performance requirements could beachieved.Finally, the upper computer software is developed on the WINDOWSoperation system, to realize the control and signal processing algorithm usingC#combined with MATLAB. Wind tunnel experiments is also conducted toanalyze the performance of turbulent wind simulation and modification.The results of the wind tunnel experiments show that the turbulencesimulation wind tunnel reaches the performance requirements for scientificresearch, able to finish the experiments for the simulation of atmosphericboundary layer.
