The south Tiegelong copper(gold) deposit was the first epithermal deposit found in Tibet, which was discovered in business exploration of super large deposits in recent years. During the mining scientific research and production project in the ore district, the author has carried on the detailed research drilling logging and mining field geological survey and mapping work, and has got a detailed understanding of the basic geological characteristics of it,so the author choose the deposit for thesis.The article mainly discusses the following contents:(1) ore body characteristics, including the orebody shape, occurrence and scale;(2) The mineralization characteristics of the ore body, including the zoning, mineral combination;(3) The relationship with other geological ore bodies, Including ore body with granite diorite porphyry and quartz diorite porphyrite, orebody and andesite, ore body and feldspar quartz sandstone, etc;(4) The deposit type deposit with other features;(5) The orebody indicate direction of ore-forming material sources.The author discuss ore body vertical roughly change by the middle floor plan, and determine the zoning and mineral assemblage by macroscopic and the microscopic photos, determine the ore body by copper contour map and the high grade ore body shape, occurrence, discuss ore body has relations with other geological ore bodies by copper contour map in the process of thesis writing.The article follow these conclusions on the research of the main content:(1) the ore body shows as oval in the plane, and tendency to south-east about 150 °,angle of tilt about 80 °.(2) The ore bearing rocks are mainly alteration of feldspar quartz sandstone and granitic rock, and rock mass is smaller, also andesite of the surface cover layer does not contain minerals and the underlying rock boundaries are clear. The relationship between other geological bodies and ore body mainly shows that the most Quartz diorite porphyrite and granodiorite-porphyry contain minerals, with the fact that feldspar quartz sandstone being the major ore bearing rock and andesite excluding minerals. It indicates that quartz diorite porphyrite has a closer relation to the mineralization; meanwhile, feldspar quartz sandstone provides space for mineralization, although andesite excluding minerals, it provides a good cap rock for the preservation of the ore body.(3) By comparison with this type of ore deposits, such deposits minerals contain mainly copper, gold, and the author think presumably the deposit or nearby still has the potential to find gold deposit.(4) According to the characteristics of the ore body shape and the high grade ore body, the author preliminarily determine the ore-forming materials come from the south east, and ore body center is near the borehole ZK2404, and the thickness is bigger, and The lower part of a few drilling near the center is better, and deep has good metallogenic potentiality; south west direction drilling engineering has not completely control, and there is still a good prospecting potential.
