Fuzzy Control For Nonlinear Systems

Fuzzy logic control scheme has been proposed as an effective approach to analyze and synthesize complex nonlinear systems. Over the past years, fuzzy logic control method has been widely used in many practical applications. The control problems of fuzzy system have been extensively studied since Takagi-Sugeno(T-S) fuzzy systems have been proposed. The main advantage of T-S fuzzy systems is that they offer a general form for stability analysis, controller synthesis. In chapte 2, the problem of H? dynamic output-feedback controller design for T-S fuzzy systems with input time-varying delay is investigated.With the developments of science, the control systems are more complex. There will be some uncertain factors in the process of model the systems. These uncertain factors will result in uncertainty of fuzzy plants for T-S fuzzy systems. Moreover, it will be lead to the uncertainty of membership functions. The type-1 T-S fuzzy models can not be used if the membership functions contain uncertain information. To overcome this problem, Jerry. M. Mendel and some authors proposed a basic type-2 fuzzy logic model. The type-2 fuzzy logic system is an extension of the type-1 T-S fuzzy logic model in the aspect of solving parameter uncertainties. Recently, the authors have studied the problems of stability analysis and controller synthesis for interval type-2 fuzzy systems. A lower and upper membership functions approach is used to deal with the parameter uncertainties in the fuzzy plants. In chapte 3-6, the problems of filter design, fault detection, model reduction, and switched controller for interval type-2 fuzzy systems are investigated.
