Ground penetrating radar (GPR) is an advanced high-frequency electromagnetic exploration technology, with the characteristics of no damage to detect objects, strong anti-interference ability and others, which has been widely used in engineering. GPR emits frequency electromagnetic waves to detect, but because of the absorption of underground media in the process of the high-frequency frequency electromagnetic wave propagation, that is very serious to make rapid attenuation of electromagnetic energy, the dispersion as well, which affect largely the GPR resolution. In addition, if the parameters are selected inappropriately in the GPR data acquisition, processing, interpretation and other aspects, the interpretation results will be multiple solutions. So, how to improve the resolution and to avoid multiple solutions are urgent subject in GPR.As to the problems, exemplifying the process of the GPR finite-difference time domain(FDTD), analyzing several common geological bodies of the FDTD forward model results, this paper discusses the GPR reflection data in depth geological characteristic response, accumulates a large number of experience about GPR technology discrimination underground structures, while trying to study and develop a high-resolution GPR data processing and interpretation system, to achieve a better interpretation of the radar data analysis purposes.Firstly, based on large amounts of data, the FDTD basic principles of numerical solution steps and key issues are discussed, and GPR electromagnetic wave propagation characteristics are analyzed. Combined with Matlab and GprMax software, multiple common target body forward models are built and analyzed.Secondly, using known results of the model forward are to direct and design GPR data acquisition and processing system, on order to high-resolution GPR data data process simulation analysis and research. Analyze the raw GPR data processing system, detailed introduce the GPR system components, detection principle, while denoise processing module using FORTRAN programming special.Finally, through typical engineering instances fully validate the feasibility and accuracy of the simulation algorithm, sum up a more effective GPR exploration methods and technology, so as to improve GPR data acquisition, processing and interpretation resolution purposes, enhancing GPR image data processing capabilities, which has some guiding significance to the actual work in the future.It is focused to study forward modeling method based on finite difference time domain, to establish GPR numerical model, and to develop a set of high-resolution GPR system with digital processing and interpretation, which will further broaden the high-resolution GPR interpreting methods and ways.
