Now high precision position information application plays an important role in military field and civilian field. In the military field, it has become one of the indispensable system in modern warfare, which improved equipment positioning tracking ability. Due to the current Western countries for the protection of satellite navigation systems, a low-precision global navigation and positioning service, has only been used by global users which limits the scope of the use of GPS in all. To break this limitation, this topic is based on civilian Standard Positioning Service to develop a reliable and fast, with high precision positioning and orientation data of real-time system, which satisfy the special demand for positioning and orientation data measuring equipment.In this paper, the main job is to design a set of equipment, which will make the equirements of precision positioning and system. We selected GPS receiver hardware from NovAtel Company, and the software platform adopted VxWorks from WindRiver Company. NovAtel is a professional company which manufacture the GPS receiver, which provides equipment with characters of started fast, stable positioning data, etc., this system can create a good hardware environment. Wind River’s VxWorks real-time operating system is a very strong operating system, widely used in military, aerospace and other high-end area. VxWorks can be provided to the user a good development environment, similar to Microsoft C language development environment can speed up product development cycles.Application software system equipment includes a large number of data processing algorithms and techniques such as GPS single point positioning, single and double difference data processing method, fast ambiguity determination of calculation conversion method, coordinate system and azimuth. Among them, the fast carrier phase ambiguity resolution, reliable and high precise calculation of directional data are the core part of this software.In many of the military and other applications on the carrier’s location and orientation is essential. Due to the large coverage of GPS satellites, GPS receiving equipment is stable and reliable, and the use of GPS is economical and convenient. Through development of this system, highly accurate positioning information can be obtained, the system may be applied to any industry which require accurate positioning measurement.
