Putaohua reservoir in study area as one of the main layer series of development of the central depression area of Songliao basin, it has submitted estimated reserves of oil more than 40 millions in 2011 and has a good development prospect. However, because of various factors, such as the difficulty of recognizing reservoir characteristics and logging interpretation accuracy is not high, oil and gas exploration and development progress is not clear. This paper first study reservoir petrology characteristics and reservoir pore characteristics by using thin section, X-ray diffraction and mercury injection data. Then focus on logging interpretation study which is based on the theory and method of geophysical well logging by effectively using core data and logging data, etc. Before establishing the model of reservoir parameter and the standard of effective hickness to dispose and interpret wells, the date of deep lateral resistivity and Δt is standardized. Then effective sand thickness distribution characteristics of Putaohua reservoir in this area is achieved. Finally according to factors such as log interpretation, sedimentary and structure, put forward the favorable area that can be deployed encryption well or extension well and the perforation, fracturing and testing advice. The research shows that Putaohua reservoir with 3700 series logging value for correction, deep lateral resistivity needn’t the disposition of tendency surface method, and the corrected value of Δt distribute between-25 μs/m and 25 μs/m. It comes to a conclusion that under conditions of these, such as lithology is above politic siltstone, oiliness is above oil patch level, porosity is equal or greater than 10%, permeability is equal or greater than 0.1×10-3μm2, water saturation less than or equal to 61%, Δt is equal or greater than 253μs/m, resistivity is equal or greater than 6Ω·m, interpretation layer may contain oil. Sedimentary microfacies and tectnonism have a combined effect in the distribution of remaining oil in this area.Aiming at remaining oil near by the fault and the boundary of the sandstone, two types of favorable zone is predicted in major sand group which is called 2th sand group of first member of Yaojia formation and nine wells including R+1-1 are put forward for perforation.
