The study area(Prek Trang block) is located in the northeast of Cambodia, which has jurisdiction over the administrative division of the oudravo Region Taranaki Province of the Kingdom of Cambodia, bordering on Vietnam to the east. Based on the abundant field investigation and extensive collection of data, the basic geological features and metallogenic law of the study area were analyzed systematically, combined the geochemical data and the geological knowledge to delineate the prospecting target area. The results are following:The main stratums in the study area are the strata with slate, schist, hornstone in the Silurian-Cambrian- Precambrian; clastic rocks in the late Paleozoic – Mesozoic; diluvium and residues in Quaternary. Extrusive rocks are mainly intermediate-acid volcanic rocks in Yanshanian and basic volcanic rock-basalt in Himalayan. Intrusive rocks are mainly hypabyssal, super hypabyssal intermediate-acid sub-volcanic rocks, including granite porphyry. The intermediate-acid volcanic rocks and sub-volcanic rocks has obvious genetic relationship with metal mineralization. There are three large fault and many joint fissures developed in the area to become channels of volcanic gas and liquid to provide a favorable space for the transport of minerals and condensation. The hydrothermal alteration is a common appearance developed in volcanics, subvolcanic rocks, pyroclastic rocks and the sedimentary rock near the volcanics. The alteration types are silicification, pyritization, chloritization, and sericitization. The X-ray experiments found that a large number of rock pyrite, chalcopyrite and other indicator minerals, Cu, Hg, Zn are chalcophile elements, analyzing the continental volcanic sulphide deposits. The soil and rock geochemical surveys were carried out in this research. Using SPSS to make the factor analysis and cluster analysis of the geochemical sample data in the study area, the element association is Cu, Zn and medium(low) temperature elements. Utilizing Surfer mapping software to process the data, Cu-Pb-Zn-Ag-Sr anomaly combination is well in combination chart of anomalies, the abnormalities are more prominent in the work area altogether circled two anomalies, providing prospecting direction for further exploration.
