The method based on electromagnetic properties and reservoir prediction of shale is a frontier field of scientific problem with challenge. According to the physical properties and electrochemical characteristics of shale gas testing needs, we test part of the shale rock through the impedance phase analyzer and got the observation of resistivity and polarizability. Combined with the scanning electron microscope, X-ray, analysis of casting lamella, detection of TOC, N2, CO2 absorption and mercury intrusion method and other microscopic analysis and geochemical analysis method. We researched the rock physical property and electrical characteristic of Silurian Longmaxi formation shale in the south of Sichuan basin, mainly analyzed, mineral components, TOC content of organic-rich shale, micro-pore structure and other characteristics to study the electrical characteristic and other hot topics.First of all, we collected the relevant geological and geophysical data and logging data of southern Sichuan Basin to locate the exposed area of the Longmaxi shale in the study area. Selecting the reasonable field samples for further analysis and confirmation,then select the representative rock samples for electrical properties and electrochemical properties tests, and simultaneous identification of micro determination of organic carbon content.Secondly, by means of scanning electron microscope,X-ray diffraction and the casting thin sections to analysis the characteristic of the micro mineral composition and microstructure characteristic including the grain size, distribution,grain packing of the shale. And by measuring the content of TOC, organic matter maturity determination to analysis the hydrocarbon potential of shale. By means of N2 and CO2 adsorption method and mercury intrusion method to study the micro-pore structure, pore size, adsorption capacity of the shale.Finally, by the results of complex resistivity of the rock with the impedance phrase analyzer to study the resistivity value of the shale, we researched the relationship with mineral composition including clay mineral and pyrite, the content of TOC and microstructure characteristic.Study the influencing factor of the resistivity and puts forward some useful results. In the end we tentatively discusses the relationship between organic matter(TOC) and pyrite, and to get a preliminary understanding.
