3D visualized modeling technology has been playing an important part in the international deposit exploration and production. However, this technology is hardly used in Chinese deposit exploration companies or agencies. This article takes Caiyuanzi Gold Deposit, located in Muli County, Sichuan Province, as an example to illustrate how Surpac is used. The main achievements and are as follows:(1)After thoroughly systemizing and analyzing the Gold Deposit archives and documents, I set up a geology database for the Gold Deposit. Thus, the visualization of drill information had been realized.(2)I leveraged Surpac to build several solid 3D models of Deposit surface and the core. These 3D models can accurately display the spatial relation between the surface and the underground core. This provides the basis for the scientific deposit production.schedule(3)Geostatistics was used to analyze the sample drill data. Given the compound sample features, I fitted the experimental variation function and successfully established a variation function model. Till now, the block mode of the Gold Deposit was completed.(4)Based on the built block model of the Deposit, I employed the Inverse Distance to a Power to estimate the reserves of the Gold Deposit II and display the distribution pattern. With Surpac and the 3D visualized models, we can have a better idea of how the deposit looks like and how much the reserve is. This considerably improves the efficiency of deposit exploration and production.
