This paper is mainly about the comprehensive study of the sedimentary facies by well logging and 3D seismic data. We studied the method for sedimentary facies according to the geological information, well logging and seismic data of an actual working area,taking example of Weizhou Formation of Xuwen area in Maichen Depression as target.On the basis of systematic analysis of geological structure and deposition system of Xuwen area in Maichen Depression, this paper developed the method study of logging facies and seismic facies, aiming at the features of complex structure and multi-source. To study the sedimentary facies distribution, such techniques are used, the core facies analysis, combination of the well logging data and seismic data, through a series of methods, as the analysis of single well facies, logging facies analysis, connecting well section analysis, seismic attributes analysis, seismic facies analysis,etc. which is from point to line and from line to surface, and ultimately achieved the final sedimentary facies of this area. This would provide guidance and basis for the later reservoir prediction and oil-gas exploration in the area.The obtained results are as follows:(1) The sedimentary period of Weizhou formation of Xuwen area in Maichen Depression develops multi-directional source system. Using the heavy minerals, detrital composition distribution, rock types and typical seismic pre-gradational reflection characteristics analysis, three main source directions are found: North, East, South.(2) Through the core and logging analysis of coring section of four wells, which are XuwenX3, XuwenX6, XuwenX7, XuwenX8, a relationship model between core facies is established.(3) Based on the analysis of single well facies, we divided 6 single well sedimentary facies.Well XuwenXl, XuwenX2, XuwenX8 in Weizhou formation mainly develops fluvial facies, Delta facies and fan delta facies, well XuwenX3 in Weizhou formation mainly develops fluvial facies, near shore subaqueous fan, Well XuwenX6, XuwenX7 in Weizhou formation develops fluvial, Delta and lake, the fan delta facies.(4) Various types of sedimentary facies develops in Weizhou formation in Xuwen area in Maichen Depression. In the vertical direction, during the sedimentary period of E3w1, with the development of fluvial facies; E3W2 of the Delta, fan delta, shore shallow lake and near shore subaqueous fan depositional, E3W3 of fan delta, shore shallow lake and near shore subaqueous fan and the combination of features. On the plane, delta, fan delta are mainly develops in the northern slope zone, shore shallow lake are develops in the central depression belt, and near shore subaqueous fan mainly develops in the southern part of the fault zone.
