With low porosity and low permeability the tight sandstone has abundant gas reservoir, but the exploration is always a focus difficulty worldwide. Based on the well logging data, the author applied the AVO technique to JS34tight sandstone in Hexingchang area, extracted rock mechanics parameters or seismic elastic parameters from the seismic data, combined with rock physics research and charts of the objective layer to explain the results of elastic parameter inversion qualitatively and quantitatively, finally achieved the lithology prediction and hydrocarbon detection of JS34tight sandstone.
