With the rapid development of science and technology, the increase of world demand forcrude oil, and the ever-increasing of proportion of minable low permeability reservoirs, bothdomestic and overseas attach more and more importance to oilfield geology comprehensivestudies of exploration and development of low-permeability oilfield. Moreover, with thedevelopment of modern sedimentology and the improvement of reservoir evaluation, analysistechniques and reservoir evaluation techniques, currently, the detailed study of sedimentaryfacies, analysis capabilities of sand body distribution rules, the quantitative description ofoccurrence regularity and fluid characteristics of sandstone reservoir space has been greatlyimproved.In this paper, using sedimentology and petroleum geology theory, combining with resultsof previous studies, and making full use of well logging data, we systemly divide and contrastthe wildcat wells and appraisal wells in study area, draw up the structural map of top layer ofstratigraphic top and sand infiltration of main intervals; Using core description data and welllogging data to establish the corresponding logging phase, and as a basis for the preparation ofwell facies and plane phase diagram, analyze and summarize the distribution rule of flat sandbody; analyze the microscopic features of reservoir through standard sheet, casting sheet, SEMand physical properties testing data; analyze the reservoir characteristics combiningmicroscopic features and macroscopic distribution rule of reservoir; do research on fluidcharacteristics and recognition using logging data, and then taking use of testing oil andproduction performance data, integrating sand body structural characteristics and reservoircharacteristics, analyze the rules of hydrocarbon accumulation, predict the favorable targetareas,and carry on reserves estimates.Studies have shown that, Yuekou area has a good sand body connectivity degree andsufficient sedimentary energy. The oil-bearing areas of Chang61, Chang62, Chang63in Yuekouarea is contiguous distribution, is the main oil layer, while oil-bearing area of Chang64isscattered, so it is oil-poor. Through statistical analysis of production performance of oil wellsin Yuekou area, and evaluation of oil reservoir characteristics and development effect of thisarea, we think that it has a great tapping potential in this area, because of its low recovery percent and low reservoir utilization level. In addition, the initial yield in this area is high, anddiminishing fastly, therefore, we should accelerate the waterflood development, complementformation energy, enhanced recovery ratio, in order to get more oil.
