The Ordos basin has good prospects for exploration and development,All the strata ofUpper Paleozoic exhibit certain potential of oil and gas reservoirs, Shanxi formation of thelower Permian is one of the main gas producing layers,From the demand of gas explorationof the Upper Paleozoic in Yanchang gas area and through drillings, well loggings, coreanalysis data and research reports of more than40wells, Combined with the analysis ofsource rocks, thin section analysis, granularity analysis, scanning electron microscope, X raydiffraction, mercury, gas testing, physical and chemical analysis data and the latestunconventional continuous oil and gas geological theory of knowledge, adopted a variety oftechniques, the reservoir geological characteristics of continuous tight sandstone gas field andthe formation mechanism is studied deeply. Studies suggest that Shanxi formation mainlydevelops delta front facies, the reservoir is mainly ultra low porosity and permeability. Thereservoir performance is poor and mainly III, IV reservoir and lithology are very dense,Natural reservoir percolation ability will be very weak without fracturing. The destructivediagenesis of the reservoir mainly includes mechanical compaction and cementation andconstructive diagenesis mainly includes denudation and fracturing; diagenetic stage is B stageto C stage in late diagenesis stage; Shanxi reservoir is inside source type reservoir, whichbelongs to the self storage type; Shanxi formation gas reservoir is mainly unconventionalcontinuous sandstone gas reservoir and are widely hydrocarbon generation,"evaporation"type of hydrocarbon expulsion, short distance migration, large-area accumulationcharacteristics; based on the favorable area of partition standard, the study are divided into3favorable zones.
