Characteristics And Distribution Of The Ordovician Hydrocarbon Accumulation In Tazhong Area, Tarim Basin

Tazhong inherited paleo-uplift which near the hydrocarbon kitchen is always the majorarea of the Tarim basin.A comprehensive analysis of hydrocarbon accumulation conditionsand typical reservoirs reveals that the stable paleo-uplift, widely developed heterogeneousreservoir, multi-stages of hydrocarbon accumulation are the basic forming and distributionconditions of the large carbonatepetroleum province in Tazhong area.Palaeohighs andtheirslope zones adjacent to the major source rocks are the favorable locations or zones forhydrocarbon enrichment.Multi-stages of accumulation and adjustment of hydrocarbon areuniversal and result in the wide distribution and diversity of oil and gas.The specialcharacteristics of carbonate reservoirs result in the wide and discontinuous distribution ofirregular fracture-cavity hydrocarbon pools. The enrichment of hydrocarbon is controlled byreservoirs,which are the main controlling factors of the formation and distribution of the largepetroleum province.Faults and unconformities are the major path ways for hydrocarbonmigration and accumulation and the favorable reservoiring condition.
