In geothermal exploration, geophysical method is mainly to probe geology and tectonicenvironment of geothermal fluid or its distribution. Streaming potential which isgengerated by groundwater flow is the basis of application of self-potential method ingoethermal exporlation. In this paper, we use an empirical formula describing therelationship between Streaming potential and groundwater flow, and applied to the selfpotential data inversion of groundwater distribution and fluid properties.Self-potential data gradient configuration is not stable, with more interference andlarge error. In order to improve data quality and unify zero potential of all points, Wecollect SP data along lines forming closed loops, and do closure mistie correction. The SP data collected at the surface is not only the response of source current density, also response of the distribution of underground media conductivity. By giving someconstraint of model permeability, wo can reduce the uncertainty of source location, Byestablishing a more reasonable resistivity model, we can improve the SP inversion accuracy. In geothermal exploration, we can establish SP forward simulation model by integrateingother geophysical detection results, and further improve the accuracy of the inversionresults. We implied SP method in the south of Jingyue district in Chang Chun geothermalexploration. Adopting resistivity model building upon CSAMT profile and permeabilitymodel building upon geological data as a constraint of the inversion of SP data, it isconcluded SP data inversion gives the information of flow velocity and flow direction ofgroundwater, having a guiding significance in geothermal exploration.
