The development of fractures in the reservoir often affects the distribution ofhydrocarbon reservoirs and plays a decisive role in the reservoir characterization.Fractures can enhance permeability in reservoirs and hence improve the productivityand recovery efficiency of oil and gas reservoirs. The research on seismicidentification and prediction of fractured reservoir at home and abroad has beenconducted for decades. Although this issue has been studied for many years, because of the complex relationship and conflict between the contributing factor withscale of fractures and seismic response characteristics with resolution, the seismicdetection technology of fracture zone is still in continuous improvement andcontinuous development phases. In this paper, the tectonic deformation as the main control factors for fracturezones were identified and predicted with multiple seismic attributes. The paperdiscussed fracture identification and prediction methods in research area, andproposed the practical approaches based on the results of the weighted coherentanalysis results and the curvature combining with some analysis of in-situ stress andcrack and the relationship between fracture identified and stress analysis for theregion. The approaches were applied to the Xinjiang Oilfield Jimusaer depressionLucaogou break/crack and northwestern margin area Fengcheng dolomitic rockfractured reservoir prediction. And the results have provided good technical supportfor the exploration of oil and gas in this area..
