Multifractal theory is a branch of mathematics which is very active in the non-linearscientific research and has more extensive application. In allusion to limitations of designmethods of fractal weave with different basic weaves in each layer, the method choosesdifferent weaves in different weave level. The location of weave points in different weavelevel is unchanged. Based on multifractal theory, a new designing method of fractal weave isput forward, which not only chooses different weaves in different weave level but also rotatesthem in counter-clockwise or clockwise at the same time.(rotates them by0°,90°,180°or270°according to the design requirements.) To change the direction of each basic weave ineach weave layer,thus effectively broaden the designing method of fractal weave.First of all, multifractal theory of the fractal geometry is introduced about the fractalmeasure, dimension and multifractal definition. The mathematical model and parameter aboutmultifractal is described from two different perspectives. The two perspectives include thedifferent characteristic and information theory of fractal geometry.Secondly, this paper introduced the definition of self affine and the theory of self affinefractal weaves produced, namely the coustruction of weave model provided by multifractalmodel is described by means of computer graphics technology.Besides, the design method of multifractal weaves was studied in the paper. The studyconsists of four aspects:1.the determination of fractal level, choosing different weaves indifferent weave level and forming the basic frame structure of multifractal weaves.2.changingthe basic weaves of different levels to acquire a kind of fabric weave with special textureeffect.3.designing suitable filling weaves and multifractal weaves so as to form multifractalfabric weaves.4.the fractal fabric obtained according to the above methods is processedaccordingly with CAD technology. Finally conducts weaving experiment with electronicjacquard machine and observes the actual fabric texture effect.At last, by comparing with the characteristics of texile fabrics. The multifractal fabricweaves were analyzed and discussed in three aspects. The factors which effect the designing of multifractal fractal weave, including the varying pattern of multifractal fractal weave andthe texture of the fabric samples. The practice has proven that the design method ofmultifracral fabric weaves were feasible.
