Wulichuan antimony ore field is located in Lush, Henan Province, predecessors have done some researches on structural ore-control, ore fabric, isotope and includes in this area, most of the researchers consider that metallogenic materials come from the stratum, some considered the metallogenic materials have a deep origin, discussions on the origin of metallogenic materials are still needed. This paper summarizes the geological, ore bodies and ores characteristics of Wulichuan antimony ore field, analyzed the trace elements and REE characteristics of ore bodies and wall-rocks, discusses the metallogenic material source and genesis.1. The Xiahe Group used to belong to Qinling Group, ore bodies in research area occurred in the Xiahe Group and are strictly controlled by Shuanghuaishu main faults, sub-faults and interlayer fracture zone in south, mineralization seems had no relationship with magmatic rocks in the study area.2. Ore bodies are nervation and stratoid, antimony show idiomorphic or hypidiomorphic needle-like texture, the structures of ore are mainly brecciated, Cataclastic and massive. Main metallic minerals are antimony and pyrite, gangue minerals are quartz, calcite, etc. Wall-rock alteration includes silicification, pyritization, carbonatation, sericitization, chloritization, epidotization and kaolinization, and the mineralization has a strong relationship with dark silicification.3. Mineralization process includes three stages, the first stage are mainly silicification(white quartz) and pyritization, the second stage are silicification(dark chalcedony) and antimony precipitation, the third stage are white silicification(white quartz) and carbonatation.4. There are low concentration zones of Sb in the wall-rock, indicating that fluids extracted some metallogenic materials from the stratum. Rare earth elements patterns and parameters are similar, The total amount of rare earth elements in marble which is nearby the ore body decreased clearly and had Eu positive anomaly, indicating that mineralization fluids might extract some materials from the stratum, the fluids had chemical reducibility in the early stage, making Eu hard to transfer into the fluids, and the Eu negative anomaly in ore is strong than that in the strtum. Metallogenic materials were from strtum, fluids containing sulphur from the deep mixed with meteoric water, transferred upward along the faults, extracted some materials from the Xiahe Group and mineralized.5. The main commercial type of antimony deposit in Wulichuan is vein deposit, Mineral prospecting should be focused on Shuanghuaishu fault and sub-faults, interlayer fracture zone in the Xiahe Group.
