As a special moving form of nonlinear dynamics system, chaos is a course of determinate and random-like. Chaotic signal has the properties of ergodicity, aperiodic and sensitivity to initial conditions. The characteristic of Chaotic systems, such as initial value (parameters) sensitivity, topology contagion and orbital ergodicity (randomness), can perfactly satisfy the diffusion, confusion and key dependence requirements in cryptography, so chaos can be used to design encryption system. The research on the theory of chaotic cryptography can be provided new ideas and development direction to cryptography research.In this paper, the basic theory of chaos and chaotic encryption technology are introduced at first. Based on the traditional three-dimensional chaotic system, the safety problems of low-dimensional chaotic system are analyzed. The application of hyperchaos system is one of the hot spot of modern confidential study. Based on Chen system and Liu system, two new hyperchaos systems are proposed in this paper and then this new system are demonstrated by computer simulations and theoretical analysis. Secondly, the basic theory of cryptography is introduced, and chaotic cryptography principles and method is researched tapicly. Based on hyperchaotic systems, a key stream generator algorithm is proposed, which contain a HASH function. The HASH function is used to reconstruct the key space, which can protect the hyperchatic system. By doing research on stream cipher and Block cipher theory, a new stream cipher algorithm is proposed based on hyperchaotic attractor, which takes the advantages of block cipher theory. Then, theoretical analyses and simulation results of this algorithm is given, and both of them confirm that the new algorithm has high security and is very fast for practical image encryption. Finally, this paper briefly introduced the AES((Advanced Encryption Standard)) encryption algorithm and Square attack method that is senior threat to AES. By Analyzed the reason of senior threat, improvement of AES is proposed.Compared with ordinary encryption algorithm based on software, encryption algorithm based on hardware has some advantages such as fast efficiency, high security and etc. Simply introduced the FPGA technology, this paper design and implement the new chaotic encryption algorithm as a IP core in the plantform of NetFPGA, which devote to the development of chaotic cryptography.In the end, a summary on this study was described and the prospect of chaos information security is proposed.
