The demand for iron is quite large in the stage of urbanization and industrialization. However, seventy percent irons depend on imports. How to solve the steel-iron need and its passive situation is not only an economic problem, but also is involved in national security strategy. Currently, the burial depths of iron deposits are comparatively shallow. and the development histories of them are long. the old ore deposits are confronted with resource depletion. The ajacent area and its depth will become the direction for the mineral exploration.Based on existing geological and geophysical data in typical "Anshan Style" iron deposit area, the metallogenic model of "Anshan Style" was concluded. Regional geological and geophysical data library was established, whereby putting a solid basis. The author selected ultra-large Dataigou Iron Deposit discovered recently as an example.The geological setting of metallogenic area was accounted. Under the constraints of the drillhole data, the effectiveness of CSAMT method was tested.The magnetic, gravity, and CSAMT combination was selected to do study on deep mineral exploration.1:10000scale magnetic survey of area66km2,1:10000scale gravity survey of40km2, CSAMT with4profiles were conducted. The raw data were edited, interpreted. Regional geological and geophysical mineral markers were established. The works offer the technical support for looking for same type concealed iron deposits. The geological and geophysical mineral model of deep iron deposits was built, and provide technical guide for iron mining.The study from the Dataigou Iron Deposit (DIP) demonstrated that high resolution gravity survey is directly effective way to search for "Anshan Style" iron deposit except of magnetic survey. It is not affected by oblique magnetization, and can guild the drilling operation. The inverted resistivity section from magnetotelluric sounding could delineate the concealed ore deposits at depth, whereby instructing the drilling work.Under the constraints of geological and drillhole data, the2.5D joint magnetic-gravity inversion were conducted interactively. The Dataigou iron bodies model was established. The inversion results exhibited thestereoscopic distribution of ore bodies, such as the location, shape and strike of the ore bodies. The ore body can be considered as a single thick slab. The burial depth of its top is around1100-1200m, and the burial depth of its bottom is around3100-3200m, The resource quantity is estimated to be16.758billion tons.
