Holography, also known as Real 3D, is an important 3D display technology. Hologram can reproduce all the original information of the objects and reconstruct the original three-dimensional shape of the objects. The view of the general hologram is limited, however circular-viewing hologram (CVH) can provides us with a 360-degree view, and giving a real feeling. However, CVH as well as circular-viewing color hologram (CVCH) is hardly practical, because the optical path of optical CVH is quite complicated and it is only effective for particular objects. Obviously, how to make simple CVCH and put it into practical application is of significant importance.Generally, we manufacture rainbow hologram and circular-viewing hologram by two steps. Fresnel hologram is made in the first step and it is called H1, while the optical holography which records the reconstruction image of H1 is called H2. To make a two-step CVH is not easy, because the optical path of it is complicated and a high-quality H1 is also necessary. However, compared with the monochromatic technology to make an optical CVCH is even more difficult, as three high-quality H1 are needed to be made respectively using three kinds of wavelength of laser. The computer-generated holography (CGH) and optical hologram are combined to implement CVCH. Firstly, H1 is made by the means of CGH, then H2 is made by the means of optical hologram, thus CVCH is implemented. Making full use of flexible CGH, this method makes it much easier to get H1, and it can display anything, from existing realities to virtual objects. What’s more important, this method makes it possible to get reflection hologram thus achieving a better effect of display, which remains impossible for CGH.This paper mainly explores the production technology of trans-missive and reflective CVCH.Firstly, a brief introduction of the holographic 3D display technology which includes optical holography and CGH is presented. The development of circular viewing hologram (the type of cylindrical and plane) and the existing problems are mentioned, and our research method and the advantage of it are introduced.Secondly, the basic principles of holographic related to this study are elaborated, including optical holograph principle, principle of CGH, principle of stereo-gram hologram and colorimetry principles about image reconstruction.Thirdly, the principles of manufacturing H1 of integrated CVCH are narrated. A detailed discussion on the Angle problems of CVH and the overlap problem of three primary colors ring hologram of color object is held. The recording light path of H2, of the computer generated integrated circular-viewing color plane hologram (CGICVCPH), is given. And the principles of recording the trans-missive CVCH and reflective CVCH are analyzed respectively.Fourthly, a description of CGICVCPH technology and the experimental results is presented. How to print H1 with high diffraction efficiency is also discussed, and comparisons between the diffraction efficiency of silver halide version and photo-resist version of CVCH are made. A detailed description of the experimental parameters and methods was also given. Based on all this, the experimental results of the trans-missive CGICVCPH and reflective CGICVCPH are analyzed.Fifthly, a brief summary of this research as well as a suggestion for future research has been put forward. The principles of the CGICVCPH are the focus of this paper, and a series of practical production plans are put forward. Particularly, two ways of producing CVCH by means of CGH are discovered. It has turned out that the plan put forward is practical. CGICVCPH has been produced successfully after a large number of experiments. It turns out that the reconstructed image of it is clear and has achieved high fidelity and intensity in colors. This research contributes to the improvement of CGCVCH and the sooner application of CVH.
