At present, there are four major satellite navigation system in the world, including the U. S. global positioning system GPS, the EU’s Galileo satellite navigation system, the Russian GLONASS satellite navigation system, and China’s Beidou satellite navigation system. GPS satellite navigation system began development in 1973, and its original intention is for the U. S. military global positioning in navigation. Along with the development of science and technology, GPS is gradually used in the daily life of the common people. As the precision of navigation and positioning increasing, people’s life, work, and study become more convenience, and it directly promotes the expansion of GPS related production’s market. At the same time, the research on the navigation and positioning of the GPS satellite is getting more and more intense.On the basis of a large number of Chinese and foreign related GPS materials, and the present situation of the GPS current development, this paper do the detailed discussion and research about the principle of GPS satellite positioning and the principle of the GPS satellite signal receiving. Afterwords, studing the GPS satellite acquisition principle and generalizing the current commonly used several satellite signal acquisition algorithms, and analyzing the acquisition performance.Then, on the basis of the above theory, the artical describes a satellite search and acquisition strategy, respectively describes the scanning search parameters of the strong signal, medium signal and weak signal; setting and distribution of channel; signal verification; and satellite signal search mode conversion. And in the actual engineering design requirements, it do the circuit design and simulation under the environment of NC-verilog to several main modules of GPS satellite signal acquisition:Doppler module, correlator module and peak detection module. The simulation result shows that the circuit design is fully meet the requirements of the engineering, and realize the successful implementation of the satellite signal capture.At the end of this thesis, the paper summarizes the work what I have done, and puts forward the problems and shortcomings in the research, and gives the method and direction of improving in the future.
