Many oil-bearing formations are included in the Illinois basin, it is almost acentury the main oil and gas production areas, but in today’s society due to themining of a long and a surge in demand for oil and gas resources, the stock oforiginal proved obviously cannot satisfy the new requirements, so it is necessaryto the oil-producing areas for further exploration. In this paper for an oil company in Illinois basin is one of the2Dseismicdata as the foundation, the detailed application related to seismic data processingmethod, explains the possibility of the occurrence of oil and gas underground.Begin from seismic section can be seen in the original data, the surface waveand sound wave interference existing in the seismic record, in addition in203measuring path has a position related to the source of noise. The existence ofnoise in seismic data processing and interpretation. Through the analysis oforiginal data processing, can be found in the combination of fk1-FK filteringprocessing, velocity analysis and stacking and iterative residual static correction,in the raw data produced by surface waves, sound waves, and the fixed sourcenoise has been effectively suppressed, the results can improve the quality ofseismic profile. In addition, the data interpretation in the process, in combination withgeological survey of Illinois of logging data is used to extract the wavelet andlogging data to generate synthetic seismic records, including New Albanyformation to the bottom of the Maquoketa stratigraphic and Trenton and Knox at the top of the top of the formation. Finally by the method of seismic profiles andAVO analysis, found that there exist in seismic wave amplitude in Trentonformation characteristics and "bright" abnormal "reverse phase". This paperexplores a kind of the effective way of underground oil and gas layer isdetermined.
