The fruit structures of 77 species and 6 varieties and seeds of 67 species and 6varieties of Brassicaceae in China for the first time including 9 tribes and 35 genera were studied in the paper using GMA method.The fruit structure including mesocarp fiber layer, to wood cell layers, carpel number of vascular bundles, endocarp to wood cells, and false of the diaphragm cell layers.Structure including seed shape and types of wing, kind of skin color and grain, seed cell structure, inclusions, and the cotyledon and the arrangement of its contents.The fruits are laterally or dorsally compressed.Fruit trichomes except Euclidieae and Matthioleae, other 7 have unicellular hairs, the family of t-shaped hairs, branching single, stellate hairs and split ends.Lepidieae fruit with wings, including four types of wings, tiny, wide, surround, or lance shaped in Lepidieae.Mesocarp usually consists of parenchyma cells and fiber layer, a few species mesocarp cells to wood(Arabideae,Lepidieae,Hesperideae).Vascular bundle number is more, usually undeveloped,distributed in skin parenchyma.Endocarp fruit wood outside other taxa endocarp usually consists of parenchyma cells except Chorispora.Except Arabideae and Lepidieae pseudoseptum cell lignification, few taxa cruciferous false diaphragm usually is 2 layers of parenchyma cells, Pachypterygium mulicaule and Isatis costatanot seen obvious fake diaphragm.Seeds elliptic, globose or ovoid, usually dark brown or brown, seed coat surface of grain into four types:Tuberculate, Overlapping curve, Double-deck overlapping curve,Ribbing.Wing with wide and narrow wings of two types.Seeds on the surface of the water produces mucous membrane, better protect the seeds from the external environment.Arrangement mode of cotyledon and radicle:Pleurorhizal, Notorhizal,Orthoplocal.This study improved the cruciferous fruit and seed morphology, reveals the fruit and seeds of the importance of research on cruciferous classification and phylogeny,establish molecular systematics as some of the groups of the relationship.(Armorac and Trib.Drabeae, Capsella and Trib.Lepidieae, Isatis and Trib.Lepidieae)Providesmorphological basis for further research of cruciferous systematics provides morphological foundation data.
