In recent years, major citys in China have a frequent fog haze weather, It has a serious influence on people’s production and living. For the prevention and control management of fog is very important and urgent. Effective monitoring of fog is the first step in the prevention and control of fog. But the monitoring technology of the haze is scare. With the corresponding, after decades of constantly, GPS technology has some advantages, such as continuous, real-time, the cost is cheap, simple and quick, the advantages of high precision and it is not affected by weather conditions. GPS technology has made great progress in GPS meteorology. The technology using GPS technology to calculate the water vapor in the air has been widely applied in rainfall forecast. In the process of in the fog, the content of particulate matter in the air will rise sharply, this kind of situation will cause the water vapor content and the relative humidity in the air make a huge change. This result will lead to the GPS system changes in troposphere delay error. We hope that we can find some regularity from these phenomena, and then summarize these rules, and finally apply them to fog monitoring. Then combining the GPS technology with fog monitoring.In this paper, the detailed research contents are the following:1) At first, this article introduced the calculation principles and methods of the water vapor, and then studied the change of water vapor characteristics and some applications.2) Then this paper studies the multipath effect during the fog haze, the tropospheric delay error and positioning change characteristics of three aspects, proves that the serious fog haz has an impact on the GPS system.3) This paper studies when in the serious fog weather, the relation between PM2.5 and the water vapor, the relation between PM2.5 and relative humidity, some conclusion are obtaind.4) Finally, this paper introduced the tropospheric delay error correction model, and studied the correlation between residual tropospheric and PM2.5.
