Qinghai Cold Lake area is an important part of the Qaidam Basin,It has good prospects for oil and gas exploration of regional. By the meansure of geological mapping of 1:50000 for cold lake town of Qinghai province area in this paper, on the basis of previous research results, combined with the profile of particle size analysis, the sporopollen characteristics, etc.. The Cold Lake area of petrology, stratigraphy, sedimentary structure, analysis and summarize the characteristics, types and evolution of the sedimentary facies.Through remote sensing interpretation, lithology observation section, the lower Ganchaigou Formation and the upper, lower Youshashan formation was redefined. Through sporopollen characteristics in the study area to analysis the internal can be drawn in the Paleogene Neogene climatic change in the study area is mainly the temperature gradually decreased to cold. The climate change characteristics of dry- wet- a dry.Based on the study area lithology, sedimentary structure, characteristics, probability curve and the sporopollen assemblages and mark analysis, initially identified the development of the alluvial fan facies, braided river facies, lacustrine facies, fan delta facies, sedimentary facies types in the region. The alluvial fan facies can be divided into alluvial fan, fan, fan three subfacies, braided river channel and beach can be divided into two subfacies. Lacustrine facies can be divided into Binhu, shallow lake, deep lake and half deep lake subfacies and three. One of the most widely distributed lacustrine facies, fluvial facies at. Finally through the sedimentary section of the sedimentary facies of the histogram analysis, the fluctuation process were determined in the study area are mainly third, 5 level.Through the research on the Cold Lake area of 1:5 million geological map and the results were analyzed to understand the research area of Paleogene Neogene strata sedimentary facies distribution, and draw out the distribution of sedimentary facies and summarize the facies model.
