The Chang 9 is a reservoir that its porosity and permeability is very low, with great potential for development, which located in the eastern part of Jiyuan region of Ordos Basin. How the reservoir is formed is largely affected by the sedimentary environment, and how to develop a reservoir has been the control of the reservoir heterogeneity. The reason why the sedimentary facies and heterogeneity of Chang 9 reservoir are researched is that need to make a serious development policy so that the reservoir can be developed in a reasonable and efficient way. Firstly, taking advantage of sequence stratigraphy principle to divide and contrast the reservoir, then establish the isochronous stratigraphic framework in this region; On this basis of that, identifying the sedimentary facies of Chang 9 area based on the regional sedimentary background, meanwhile combining a variety of sedimentary and logging signs, then study the distribution of all kinds of microfacies of the region by the mean of drawing sedimentary microfacies plan that are belonging to each layer of Chang 9; By coring in the sedimentary microfacies area, especially analyze the characteristics of petrology and pore structure in order to figure out the diagenesis of Chang 9 reservoir, then through the way of cathodoluminescence, SEM and casting sheet to distinguish all cores in the region, and drawing the distribution plan of Chang 9 diagenetic facies; Sedimentation and diagenesis are the two key factors which influence reservoir heterogeneity, incoporation the research results of sedimentary facies and reservoir characteristics, using permeability data, oil data, the thickness data of interlayer, and the intrastratal sandwich date to calculate various parameters of reservoir heterogeneity, draw various maps that they can reflect the differences between the properties of the reservoir, so as to research the characteristics of the intraformational heterogeneity, interbedded heterogeneity, and plane heterogeneity of Chang 9 reservoir.
