Carbon Dioxide as the greenhouse gases, had a significant impact on the global climate. Due to the higher concentration of Carbon Dioxide, the temperature was risen, the rainfall was decreased, and the rainfall pattern was changed. Hence, the climate was warmed and drought over years. Xilinhot was located in arid and semiarid areas with the200-400 mm annual precipitation. The drought was frequently occurred in the grassland region with two drought years averagely in three years, and with a drought year every seven years. The drought was lasted for a long time, and it could be up to seven years sometimes. The drought directly impacted the herds’ production and living in grassland area. This paper analyzed the time and space distribution of Carbon Dioxide concentration in Xilinhot area. It was showed that Carbon Dioxide concentration increased year by year in 2003-2009, in study area. In space, the annual concentration of Carbon Dioxide was high in the southeast, low in the northwest. In spring and summer Carbon Dioxide concentration was high in the west, low in the east, while in autumn and winter Carbon Dioxide concentration was high in the southeast, low in the northwest.Statistical analyzed the meteorological drought occurring year, season, month evolution in the study area. In 1978-2013, the average annual precipitation was 269 mm,in the study area. In 1978-2013, drought in 15 years, the drought occurrence frequency was 41.7%, including 10 years as the light drought, 2years as the moderate drought, 1year as the severe drought, 2years as the special drought. The number of spring drought occurred most, for 16 years, the drought frequency was 44%, followed by the autumn of13 years, the drought frequency was 36%, summer and winter for the same as 11 years, the drought frequency was 31%. Based on the above analysis of drought frequency, used random sampling method, selected 10 years(1999, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006, 2007,2009, 2012, 2013) as this paper’s study years.Through the correlation analysis of the month average concentration of Carbon Dioxide and average temperature, precipitation anomaly percentage, known Carbon Dioxide concentration and temperature were linear positive correlation, Carbon Dioxide concentration and precipitation anomaly percentage showed a negative linear correlation, that is, the higher the concentration of Carbon Dioxide, the more to the arid development tread.Comprehensive analyzed the various factors affected the herds’ adaptability todrought, constructed the evaluation index system of adaptability, standardized data, used comprehensive evaluation model to evaluate drought adaptability in Xilinhaote area, induced the distribution characteristics and development trends of drought adaptability, and analyzed the influencing factors, characteristics, differences in the adaptive effect.Evaluation of regional drought adaptation results showed the adaptability of study area was in general, more than 80% of the area was in the state of general adaptability(Grade III), in good condition(Grade IV) only account for a few percent, and the ideal state(Grade V) area almost didn’t appear. The maximum value of adaptability index appeared in 2012(8.1836), the minimum value in 2005(2.2113).Study on drought adaptability of grassland region will be beneficial to reduce the risk and promote the sustainable use of grassland.
